Decorative glass component supplier, RegaLead, has launched the UVB85 bench which it says is a next generation of UV bonding equipment that offers faster cure times and lower running costs for decorative glass manufacturers.
Whilst older machines use long UV tubes, which take time to power up and are expensive to replace, the UVB85 uses LED lamps that are designed to last 10 years, reportedly cutting running costs by 40% and crucially, delivering instant UV light.
Paul Edwards, director of sales at RegaLead said:
“More than 25 years ago, we transformed the way that decorative glass customers bonded bevels and the UVTek FSU became the industry standard equipment. Now, decorative glass manufacturers need more flexibility and speed from their bonding equipment.”
The new UVB85 bench benefits from improved electronic controls, LED lights, a clear LED screen, a built-in timer, and a 2-zone control system. It also features a white light option so it can be used as a lightbox for leading and applying films of all opacities.
While maintaining a similar cure area to older machines, the UVB85 includes additional setting blocks for applying bevels to oversized glass panels. Crucially, the unit is lighter and more portable, allowing it to be stored away when not in use, saving valuable factory floor space.
