New technical stage at summit

This year’s Glazing Summit will see the launch of the brand-new Technical Stage, as Andrew Scott, founder of the Glazing Summit and CEO of Insight Data and Purplex, explains.

To build on the success of last year’s event, we have decided to introduce a second stage at the Glazing Summit so that more of the biggest industry issues can be discussed.

The one-day conference takes place on Thursday, September 12 at Edgbaston Stadium and Conference Centre, Birmingham. And thanks to the new Technical Stage, it’s going to be bigger and better than before.

The Yale-sponsored Technical Stage should be a big hit and will tackle the key issues around technical, compliance and regulations, and provide senior technical people and designers, production directors, health and safety and compliance officers with a platform to learn and share best practice.

This year we want to make sure there is a discussion and debate that will appeal to everyone who’s attending. With two stages we can cover a wider range of topics and provide visitors with content that is more valuable to them. It’s all about striking the right balance for visitors.

Alongside the Technical Stage, the Main Stage will be packed with a fresh line-up of key-note speakers and industry experts debating the latest industry trends, the big issues facing the sector, new technologies and products, and where the industry is going.

Organisers are finalising the agenda and topics for discussion on both stages, as well as the key speakers and panellists.

The goal last year was to bring together industry leaders to discuss and debate the big issues facing the glass and glazing industry – and we certainly achieved that. Now we want to make it bigger and better for this year, which means more topics, more speakers and more people. The aim is to have something for everyone, whether you are a fabricator, installer, component supplier or glass company.

The day will also feature plenty of networking opportunities, and the event will be rounded off with the Glazing Summit Leaders’ Dinner in the evening, which will provide an opportunity for peer-to-peer networking, a drinks reception, three-course dinner, and after dinner speaker – all taking place in the Edgbaston Banqueting Suite.

Some of the biggest names in the industry have partnered with this year’s event: Unique Window Systems is sponsoring the VIP Leaders Dinner, while ODL Europe is sponsoring the Drinks Reception. Event partners also confirmed include FENSA, the BFRC, Edgetech, CAB, The Residence Collection (Window Widgets), Window Ware, Shelforce, Improveasy, Hodgson Sealants and TWR Group.
