Korniche – the number one choice

Ian Bousfield, marketing manager at Made for Trade, explains why the pioneering Korniche bi-fold remains the number one choice for homeowners and trade partners.

Our multi award-winning Korniche brand was founded with the idea to bring inspirational products to market via the use of innovative design and precision engineering.

Following in the footsteps of our revolutionary lantern roof, the Korniche bi-folding door’s attributes saw it quickly on a trajectory to the same sales success, and it soon became the product of choice – requested by name – for consumers and trade installers.

Created as a completely bespoke system from a clean sheet, the MFT engineering team behind the bi-folds designed a product founded on the three core principles of precision, simplicity and beauty.

The combination of new technology and and engineering experience meant slim, industry-leading sightlines, along with robust functionality and security.

That security aspect is always at the forefront of any Made for Trade product, and with enhanced protection as standard on Korniche doors, security is ‘designed in’ from the outset.

Korniche bi-folding are certified to PAS24:2016 and feature a three-star Yale locking barrel, high-strength shootbolts and multi-point locking systems.

The MFT engineering team has become synonymous with innovation, and clever security details include a unique shootbolt handle with an anti-backdrive element; so even if left unlocked, a forced entry attempt can’t rotate the handle to open the door.

That handle is also impossible to open if the key is left in the lock – thereby preventing any possible damage – whilst sealed bearings sit in stainless-steel wheels and lateral rollers reside in a unique pivoting axle, meaning the sashes will glide effortlessly for years to come.

New for 2023, customers can now benefit from a stylish Uni-Blind system, an integrated solution that requires no installation or setup.

The blinds are available through Made for Trade in a range of 10 different colours, or one of two exclusive Korniche grey and black shades to match the doors themselves. High-quality bespoke hardware is also available to match or contrast – the traffic door and shootbolt handles are available in black, white, grey, polished chrome or brushed stainless steel.

The Screenline-based blinds use an SL20SV sliding control and are now available as an option on MFT’s online quotation request forms. These venetian systems are installed ready to use and as they are fully encapsulated within the glass, they require no maintenance or cleaning.

When it comes to fitting, Made for Trade’s Korniche doors have also taken things to the next level.

From patented innovations such as the clip-in and removable SpeedBead, to industry-leading compartmentalised parts boxes, the Korniche bi-fold has been designed to be incredibly easy to fit, saving installers hours on site and maximising profit margins.

The doors are supplied pre-assembled and ready to glaze, whilst high efficiency insulated glass unit options include Planitherm Total Plus or Planitherm One as well as laminated options. Another Made for Trade feature is our ‘one drop’ delivery: the frame kit and glazing are delivered together to further save time and hassle on site, once again maximising profit for trade installers.

Finally, a comprehensive 10-year guarantee against all part and manufacturing defects offers unbeatable peace of mind.

This backs up the assurance that Korniche products are engineered to the highest standards, so consumers can enjoy products that are not only stronger, slimmer, safer and warmer, but also installed with speed and ease.
