Listers’ MD, Roy Frost, argues that doors can literally be the most convenient route into a sale…

When Listers meets customers on its stand at the FIT Show this May, the national trade fabricator will be promoting the new additions to its door range.

“Most of the products we are displaying at this year’s show are absolutely brand new,” says Roy Frost, Listers’ MD. “We’ve decided to concentrate on our door offering at the FIT Show for two key reasons. The first is that homeowners are increasingly looking at whole renovations, so window companies need to be properly equipped to offer a wider range of options.

“And secondly, this is an opportunity for our customers to work smarter. By turning to us as a one stop shop, we can offer all windows and doors – across PVC-U and aluminium – in the same colours and on the same lead times. This means less time is spent returning to site and waiting for deliveries.

“Plus, we can help them with powerful marketing tools.”

Top of the list is the new Sheerline lift-and-slide patio door, which uses the Thermlock multi-chamber design to deliver ‘next generation’ thermal performance.

This includes U-values as low as 1.0W/m2k triple-glazed and 1.4W/m2k double-glazed, making it fully Part L compliant.

The Sheerline lift-and-slide also achieves PAS24 and has full Secured by Design accreditation. It also meets Part F, with a discrete overhead vent option.

It’s available from Listers in white, anthracite grey and black on a 10-day lead time, with a further nine on-trend colours available in just four weeks.

“We are a Sheerline launch partner, and we are now offering the full Sheerline product line-up – with more on the horizon,” Roy explains. “We can see the massive opportunities that access to the complete Sheerline range gives to our customers.”

Complementing the new Sheerline lift-and-slide patio door – and the whole of the Sheerline range – is an exclusive range of ultra-energy-efficient aluminium entrance doors.

There are three different options: a 44mm thermally efficient aluminium panel door, manufactured by Listers in Sheerline; a 65mm flush; and 95mm premium options.

“The 95mm and 65mm flush entrance doors deliver a very high level of performance with quadruple-glazing option and finger-print entry, and are available in a wide range of colour choices and finishes,” Roy says.

“The 44mm is fully suited with our wider offer from Sheerline, using the Sheerline Prestige sash and frame. And the finish is perfectly colour-matched to Sheerline’s colour range, in a marine grade and powder coated finish – there’s no risk of any inconsistencies in shade or colour.

“It’s a completely unique and exclusive platform for Listers customers,” he adds.

“Aluminium entrance doors are a growth sector, and our range gives our customers high-value options at every price point. While doors may not command the same ticket price as a house of windows, the entrance door is often the focal point for personalisation.

“To tap into this interest from homeowners, we’ve created a new customer website door designer tool for our Gallery44 composite door range.”

With three ranges to choose from – ‘traditional’, ‘contemporary grained’, or smooth finish ‘urban’ options – the Gallery44 door designer tool pulls different door styles, colour options, glass and hardware specifications into a simple-to-use online configurator.

“It’s a plug-and-play solution for our customers which drops into their website via an iFrame, so there are no big development costs,” Roy says.

“Installers can sit down with a householder and show them exactly what options are available and how those options will look, based on their choice of colour, finish and hardware. It is a fantastic point of sale or lead generation tool.”

Lister has also updated its Gallery44 door brochure, which includes a brand-new on-trend glass design range and new heritage furniture.

Attending the FIT Show is all about giving greater control to the installer, according to Roy, and doors are giving them the point of difference to do that.

“The industry is constantly changing, with new trends emerging all the time,” he says. “And we’ll have even more to share at the show, including a brand-new heritage French door.”
