Designed as a response to industry demand for larger, better performing patio doors, Deceuninck’s unique Slider TT24 triple-track opens up valuable sales opportunities for customers by allowing them to compete directly against more expensive aluminium systems.

The market research is clear when it comes to design preferences for ‘statement’ patio doors at the top end of the home improvement and new build market – bigger is definitely better.

Originally fuelled by aspirational TV shows such as Grand Designs, the demand for products that can flood homes with natural light has grown steadily over the years, with system houses working hard to minimise sightlines and thresholds, while simultaneously increasing heights and widths.

Up until recently, this space has been dominated by aluminium systems, but that is now being challenged with the introduction of Deceuninck’s new triple-track Slider TT24, an advanced PVC-U system that delivers outstanding performance and energy efficiency at a much more attractive price point for end users.

As Darren Woodcock, general manager at Deceuninck UK explains, the enhanced design flexibility on offer from the Slider TT24 triple-track is a direct result of listening and responding to feedback from the market:

“Our customers were asking for a product that could help them respond to demand for larger openings, one that could deliver on energy efficiency but – crucially – one that could also present additional value by integrating with our existing systems,” he explains.

“Up until that point, the options were limited by dual-track PVC-U systems, so we worked on developing a solution that was more versatile, would be suitable for multiple applications including residential and commercial projects and would fill much larger apertures.

“With the Slider TT24 triple-track, our customers now have access to a system that can accommodate openings of up to 6m wide in a six-pane configuration and nearly 4.42m in a three-pane format. And thanks to a new sculptured sash option, it can also be suited perfectly with our existing Heritage Window Collection and our 2800 system – it opens up a wealth of opportunities for them.”

Darren also highlights the significant amount of R&D that went into bringing the Slider TT24 triple-track, which has been integral to its energy efficiency performance and also its high levels of security.

The door is fully Kitemark tested, including to PAS24 2022 in a fixed and two-sliding sash configuration of up to 4,420mm wide and 2,280mm tall. It has also been fully tested in a six-pane configuration, including two fixed lights and four sliding sashes to 6m wide, and is available in Secured By Design specification if required.

Featuring a robust, 8-point locking mechanism – and supported with an ERA total security guarantee – the Slider TT24 triple-track boasts market leading weather, air and water tightness performance and is compliant to Part Q for security and Part M for mobility.

Depending on hardware options, it can support individual sash weights of up to 150kg, with the option to manufacture individual sashes up to 1,500mm wide.

“It’s a highly-engineered system, the quality of the hardware means that homeowners can buy into the premium feel of how it operates, and also be assured that they’re investing in a product that will keep their property well secured,” continues Darren.

“And with energy efficiency still a high priority for homeowners and for developers, a U-value of as low as 0.98W/m2K is also a key selling point, especially when pitched against aluminium systems that may struggle to achieve the same kind of performance.

“The Slider TT24 triple-track gives that assurance, but it also offers a strong aesthetic appeal, which is vital at the top end of the market, and that’s underpinned by all the investment we have made at Deceuninck on our state-of-the-art foiling technology and colour offer.”

Darren adds that this investment has given Deceuninck customers a clear advantage when selling on colour – for many, foiled profile accounts for the majority of product they order – and this naturally extends to the Slider TT24 triple-track which is also available in 30 colourways from stock, and an additional 20 colours within 15 working days.

“There’s no doubt that our ability to support customers on higher value foiled product gives them a competitive edge, but so does the fact that we have listened to what they need, in terms of product development, in order to win sales,” concludes Darren.

“The Slider TT24 triple-track presents a unique opportunity in a strong market for inline sliding patio doors, across the home improvement and new build sectors, for its ability to challenge aluminium products. And as a perfect match to our established Heritage and 2800 portfolio, it’s an even more exciting proposition.”
