Glass Times editor Nathan Bushell reports on the latest Glazing Summit news.

The 2020 Glazing Summit will take place on Thursday, October 8 at Edgbaston Stadium and Conference Centre, according to the latest news to cross my desk just as we were about to email out this week’s newsletter.

Organisers Insight Data and Purplex Marketing said they moved quickly to secure the venue for the event in 2020, following the success of this year’s event – 98% of attendees said they would attend the Glazing Summit next year.

Glazing Summit founder, and CEO of Purplex and Insight Data, Andrew Scott, said: “We had some hugely positive feedback and the Glazing Summit brought together industry leaders, key influencers, decision makers and those shaping the market to share their ideas on the future of the industry.”

It attracted almost 350 industry leaders from across the glass and glazing industry, 23 big-name sponsors and 25 expert and keynote speakers.

“We raised the bar last year and our challenge now is to take the event up a notch again and make it even bigger and better next year,” Andrew said.

“It’s a challenge we’re looking forward to and preparations are already underway.”

I’ll certainly be going. The last few years have been unpredictable to say the least, and having a well-attended event like the Glazing Summit present ideas and knowledge was important to help separate the wheat from the chaff.

I imagine that if you typically don’t find the time to attend some of these events that take place through the year, then the Glazing Summit offers an insight into what matters in the industry.
