Major move for Regency Glass

I was invited to Regency Glass earlier this week, to get a preview of the glass manufacturer’s ambitious move to a new, 420,000ft2 factory that will be based in Warrington.
The relocation represents a multi-million pound investment by the company – creating what will be the largest glass processing and IGU manufacturing facility in the UK – and is the result of anticipated high demand for the next generation Regency Triple featuring Corning Enlighten Glass.
There has been a lot of excitement around this new innovation in recent months and for good reason. Regency Triple presents a step-change in triple glazing technology and a major opportunity for the industry to capitalise on demand for high performance glazing.
That’s because, unlike traditional triple glazed units, it is light weight and easy to handle. According to Regency, there is only a 5% weight increase over conventional double glazing.
It is also much thinner than regular triple glazing, so it is capable of fitting into a 28mm cavity, making it compatible with existing 70mm profile systems and a much more desirable option for the home improvement market.
And while it may be ‘thin’ it offers impressive U values of 0.8 in 28mm units and 0.6 in 36mm units.
Another key USP is that, due to the advanced, and highly automated manufacturing process and the use of Thermo Plastic Spacer bar, installers will also find it much easier to fit glazing beads.
Work on fitting out Regency’s new Warrington factory is being carried out at pace, and the company says that it is planning to start production in spring 2026.
