Industry recognition

Glass Times editor Nathan Bushell reports on last Friday’s G Awards.

Congratulations to all the winners of the G19 Awards, which took place on Friday at London’s Park Lane Hotel. They were:

Commercial Project – Slimming World Headquarters, Pilkington UK
Component Supplier – Deceuninck
Customer Care Initiative – Ultraframe
Fabricator – Sternfenster Window Systems
Glass Company – Crystal Units
Installer – Nolan uPVC
New Product – Stellar Aluminium System, Epwin Window Systems
Promotional Campaign – Stellar Aluminium System, Epwin Window Systems
Sustainability Initiative – CMS Window Systems
Trade Counter – Glassolutions, Aberdeen
Training and Development Initiative – Training the Nation in Fenestration, Fenestrology
Unsung Hero – John Deacon, CMS Window Systems

Epwin won two awards, which underlined a significant year for the systems company as it has continued to adapt to market trends – first with Optima, and now with Stellar.

“It’s fantastic to see the efforts of the team recognised in these awards,” Clare O’Hara, Epwin Window Systems’ managing director, said.

Gerald Allen, marketing manager at Epwin Window Systems, added: “Stellar is an outstanding system that needed an outstanding campaign to launch it. We were proud of the resulting campaign and we are understandably delighted to have won these two awards.”

For others, winning award is more of a statement of intent.

“Winning at the G19s tops off a fantastic year for Nolan uPVC but we’re not stopping there,” managing director Nolan Nicholas said. “We have ambitious growth plans for 2020.”

Even the shortlisted entries that didn’t win came away having enjoyed themselves, such as Quickslide: “While we did not return to Yorkshire with any #G19Awards trophies, we’re so proud of having made two fantastic shortlistings! We had a blast at Friday’s awards evening and we’d like to congratulate the organisers for a triumphant evening and of course all the fantastic winners.

More news and pictures will follow in the January issue of Glass Times.
