Good luck Paddle2Pedal!

Glass Times editor Nathan Bushell eavesdrops on the online chatter surrounding GM Fundraising’s Paddle2Pedal charity event (from the warmth of his dry office).

As I write this (Tuesday evening) 12 ladies from the fenestration industry have just completed day three of mammoth journey involving 100 miles of canoeing down the River Wye (including rapids), abseiling down Symonds Yat, and a 120-cycle ride.

From what I gather, it has been very wet, and GM Fundraising founder Gary Morton had to step in after one team member fell ill. This from Sarah Ball on Facebook:

“@gm fundraising #Paddle2Pedal Day 3 done! Monday was really tough for me as I picked up a bug from going in the water on Sunday. Yesterday I managed the morning but had to stop at lunchtime. After sleeping 16 hours I got back in the canoe this morning. Charlotte and I had a pretty good day – 21 miles – and now we’re in Ross on Wye. Tomorrow there are rapids at Symonds Yat, so there will be some tricky navigation.

“I just want to say a huge thank you to the team and support for making sure I was OK yesterday. Love you all.”

You can follow their journey on Twitter and Facebook, where there are numerous pictures and videos – the ones of the swollen river are especially off-putting!

And you can donate here.

Good luck!
