A professional need

Glass Times editor Nathan Bushell reports on the latest news from Vitrum.

Vitrum 2019 promises to be a sold-out event, its organisers have announced, with more encouraging numbers than for the previous show.

“The numbers are overwhelmingly positive,” Vitrum’s president Dino Zandonella Necca said. “The confirmed space for this edition is 8% higher than in 2017 and there has been a 5% rise in the number of exhibitors, including 41 new companies that have never exhibited here or are returning to Vitrum after two or more years of absence.”

He attributed this to an “immense effort” to “construct a perfectly planned trade show experience based on the needs of industry professionals”.

There are many features designed to appeal to visitors, including: a Start-Up Area dedicated to innovations for the entire glass supply chain; the Agents and Dealers Area; and the MatchMaking platform designed to help people meet and schedule meetings based on their categories of interest.

Glass Times is publishing a glass processing and machinery supplement to coincide with the show, and I still have space for contributions. Please email me if you are interested.

Finally, our Christmas Party on December 12 at Haydock Park has proven to be hugely popular, with places selling out very quickly. There will be a Hollywood Theme with a red-carpet champagne reception, three-course meal, disco until the early hours, and (of course) a free bar.

A couple of tables have come free (£900 for a table of ten), so call Mandy Westhead on 07412 364364 if you are interested.
