Well done to all those who were nominated at last week’s G Awards and an even bigger congratulations for those that came away with a G22 trophy.
The G Awards is always a fantastic opportunity to celebrate at the end of the year, to recognise the talent and innovation that helps to drive the industry forward and especially so during the kind of more challenging period that we have experienced post Covid.
This year’s awards were heralded as being bigger than ever thanks to the addition of two new categories, Rising Star and Machinery Supplier, which were won by Lister’s Bradley Foster and Haffner. You can check out the full list of winners here.
When you look at the economic forecast for next year, I wonder whether the G23s should also include a category for best lead generation, marketing strategy or business management system – because as it stands, installers and fabricators will need to invest in all three if they are to make the most of more demanding trading conditions ahead.
There are a couple of good examples in this week’s newsletter. Comp Door has become one of the first fabs to have Business Micros’ new Touch software platform integrated fully across its operations. Design, quoting and ordering are all now directly linked to its Evolution manufacturing and Evonet business management software.
And Windowlink customers can now also take advantage of the fact that Focus and Vector software is now compatible with Business Pilot’s CRM system.
The best products, those that deliver premium quality and high energy efficiency, combined with first class service are going to be key for next year – but so will be the ability to operate as efficiently as possibly.
