Coral Windows & Conservatories is looking to fill two senior posts: an Operations Manager reporting into the Board of Directors and a Senior Department Manager reporting into the Operations Manager.

Both roles will play a key role in helping the business to continue to grow and succeed.

Coral Windows & Conservatories is a medium sized, independent, Yorkshire based local, family-run business. It leads the way in home improvement design and installation, having built a strong background with over 32 years’ experience installing conservatories, orangeries, extensions, windows, doors, and rooflines. The company prides itself on high-quality customer service of bespoke designs, truly suiting to the clients’ needs.

In summary, the skills and knowledge requirements are similar, and the Operations Manager will have more responsibility. They will be hiring and training employees and managing quality assurance programs. They are required to strategise process improvements to ensure everyone completes their tasks on schedule and manage costs to the business efficiently.

They are responsible for people, operations, budgets, project delivery and strategy and able to demonstrate results and a real impact on business outcomes.

Being responsible for processes being followed and all teams are facilitated collaboratively to continuously improve these processes.

Part of the core operations responsibilities include resourcing, staffing, recruitment, and financial processes linked to the budgeting aspects of the role, in which the Operations Manager must manage costs, budgeting and forecasting. Project delivery functions include delivery assurance, quality assurance, customer delivery and relationship management. They will also be expected to support the production planning process and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are in place and production targets are met.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Work with the board of directors to determine values and mission, and plan for short and long-term goals
  • Supporting the MD vision and process ideals.
  • Critical thinking skills to react to challenging situations
  • Meet business targets -KPI’s on Build/Installations of Conservatories/ Window/Door, and Service Calls
  • Having a keen eye on budgets and budgetary changes.
  • Oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Provide inspired leadership for the organisation
  • Make important policy, planning, and strategy decisions
  • Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures
  • Project Management and Implementation.
  • Have a general understanding of Building Regs requirements is beneficial
  • Manage managers to handle customer complaints in a timely manner and deal directly with complaints escalated to Section 75 / ADR
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company
  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are followed
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Documenting procedures for business monitoring.
  • Creating and monitoring projects and teams
  • Communicating changes in an orderly process to relevant parties.
  • Reviewing workloads and manpower to ensure targets are met.
  • Ensuring staff working on processes are happy and operating efficiently.
  • Supporting all functions of the business to work together.
  • Liaise/work with Governing bodies, BSI/ Fensa
  • Recruit when necessary.
  • Support worker communication with the management team.
  • Good understanding of GDPR requirements is beneficial
  • Complete disciplinaries when required

Preferred Key skills required – The applicant needs to meet a specific level of competence or knowledge.

  • Able to demonstrate previous experience in Senior Management position in an operational environment or have a bachelor’s degree in Operational Management.
  • Experience in management, operations, and leadership
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow management.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving
  • Solution orientated and encourage financial efficiencies
  • Solid understanding of financial management.
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements in both workplace and on construction sites.
  • Experience in managing subcontractors would be beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge and experience on installation of replacement window/door/roofline/conservatories would be beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent customer service and consulting skills
  • Excellent communicating, verbal, written and negotiation skills
  • Excellent leadership, organisational and critical thinking skill
  • Man-management experience of large team
  • Positive and can-do attitude
  • Be diligent, initiative-taking, and flexible
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Word/Excel

Hours of work
Hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm but must be able to work flexible hours as and when required
