Reynaers Aluminium UK has appointed Jim Smith as its new managing director.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the building products industry, Jim will lead the company’s growth, strengthen its commercial capability and further expand Reynaers’ presence within the architecture and specification markets.

Jim is said to bring extensive leadership experience across the flooring, lighting, and fit-out sectors, with a proven track record in specification-led sales, strategic commercial management and the delivery of large-scale projects.

Jim said:

“The emphasis Reynaers places on its people and customers was a real draw for me. I am looking forward to working alongside our talented team and valued customers and partners. Collaboration has always been central to my approach, and Reynaers has an exceptional network of commercial, trade and fabrication partners that will help drive our continued success.”

Having worked across commercial, industrial, retail, education and healthcare sectors, Jim will focus on accelerating growth while ensuring Reynaers continues to deliver market-leading support to architects, specifiers, fabricators and contractors.

Sustainability will remain a core priority under Jim’s leadership. Reynaers’ strategy is guided by its Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) goals, including reducing its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030.

The company takes a holistic approach to sustainable building design, developing aluminium window, door and façade systems that are designed to balance energy efficiency, resilience to climate change, durability, affordability, recyclability, circularity, eco-design and compliance with regulation at the design stage of all construction projects.

Jim added:

“Sustainability has been a defining focus throughout my career, so Reynaers’ commitment to creating a more sustainable built environment immediately resonated with me. Sustainability credentials are now fundamental to specification decisions, and Reynaers is recognised for its innovative product portfolio, rigorous testing and technical expertise. I’m excited to build on these strengths, helping customers overcome increasingly complex design challenges while keeping their needs at the heart of everything we do.”

For more than 60 years, Reynaers Aluminium has been developing innovative aluminium windows, doors and façade systems that combine outstanding performance, design flexibility and long-term sustainability, helping shape the built environment across the UK and worldwide.
