The Neo Smart Slide from Aluplast offers a premium, contemporary sliding door that brings all the advantages of PVC-U into a space that’s usually reserved for more expensive aluminium products.

Aluplast’s Neo Smart Slide sliding door system has been designed to have a transformative impact on fabricators and installers, thanks to its contemporary styling, slim sightlines, premium finishes and class leading hardware.

That’s because when you combine all these features, Neo Smart Slide is not just a cut above competitor PVC-U systems, it offers a level of aesthetic appeal and performance that would normally be associated with more expensive aluminium alternatives.

As Aluplast’s director of sales and marketing, Ian Cocken, explains, that presents trade partners with a unique opportunity to elevate themselves above the competition, ‘unlocking’ a wealth of lucrative installations and valuable profit margin.

“We’ve seen a clear rise in demand for large sliding doors in top end residential projects in recent years, in particular for products that can offer maximum glass and slim sightlines,” he says. “Up until now, the default option at this end of the market has typically been an aluminium solution, but thanks to the advances we have made in PVC-U system technology, that is no longer the case.

“With Neo Smart-Slide, we can offer heights up to 2.5m and span of 4.5m with just two panels, with one fixed and one sliding,” he continues. “Specified with our outstanding range of Aludec foils, which accurately replicate the look of aluminium, and with exceptional hardware as standard, users will struggle to tell the difference.

“Of course, there is a difference, in that neo Smart-Slide can achieve Passive House levels of thermal efficiency, accommodating units of up to 54mm, with u-values as low as 0.75W/m2K, which along with improved style and security, is a key priority for end users.

“So, while it can be presented as a superior solution against other PVC-U sliders, installers also have the option to position it as a genuine, aluminium alternative.”

At the heart of Neo Smart-Slide is hardware from either Maco or Siegenia, which delivers top tier performance for air and water permeability, achieving BS6375 for weather tightness and PAS24 for security.

When Neo Smart-Slide is in the ‘fully open’ position, it has been designed to lift away from the gaskets and weather seals and to be operated effortlessly on its rollers, while at the same time accommodating individual sash weights of up to 250kg dependent on hardware.

When users place the door into a ‘fully locked’ position however, the locking mechanism pulls the sash onto the frame and secures it on all four sides of the sliding sash, with the fixed panel glazed into the outer frame.

And while the aforementioned aludec finish offers an unrivalled aluminium aesthetic, Aluplast’s significant investment into foiling technology means Neo Smart-Slide can also be optioned with the stunning Woodec finish, or a completed in an additional range of 40 different colours.

Its broad design appeal is further enhanced by the fact it can be perfectly suited with Aluplast’s Ideal 70 and Ideal 4000 window systems, as well the system company’s flush casement offer, which is now available with a mechanically jointed option, plus its flush outward-opening door.

“With Neo Smart Slide, our customers can demonstrate a variety of exciting design preferences to homeowners and developers,” says Ian. “For more ambitious projects there are options for three and four-panel options, and beyond that, there’s the potential for even more opportunities by matching additional products in our product range.

“It ticks a lot of boxes,” he concludes. “It has all the advantages of PVC-U, in terms of energy efficiency, performance and sustainability – thanks to our Ecotech profile – but it also delivers all the prestige and desirability of aluminium.

“For end users that means design flexibility, and for our customers, it means a greater ability to tap into high margin sales.”
