Why juggle multiple software products when you can have one that does it all, asks Windowlink managing director, Mark Dudley.

When Windowlink first started back in the ‘80s, the window industry was a much simpler place.

PVC-U installers fitted PVC-U products, aluminium installers fitted aluminium, and you could have windows in any colour you liked, as long as it was white.

These days, that’s dramatically changed. 21st century installers are expected to provide a much greater variety of products, from PVC-U casements to sash windows, bi-folds, sliding patio doors and so on.

That’s great, because it offers installers many more opportunities to win new customers and grow.

However, it’s also made their lives a lot more complicated – including when it comes to software.

Many fabricators offer software that’s designed to help customers sell. When you’ve got one main supplier, that can be very useful.

But if you’re offering products in multiple materials, bought in from several suppliers, it quickly becomes unworkable.

Who has time to run a busy glazing business and juggle two, three or possibly more pieces of software?

That’s where Windowlink comes in.

Windowlink does it all

Focus (for windows and doors) and Vector (for conservatories) are software solutions that assist in managing the entire sales process, from generating quotes to delivering products, while also allowing homeowners to personalise their selections from a wide variety of styles and configurations.

Our software can be customised to your specific product range. Additionally, staff members can use advanced visualisation technology to superimpose selected designs onto images of customers’ homes.

Our software enables quick and easy creation of personalised quotes, contracts and reports, which can help establish your business as trustworthy and professional.

With Vector, the conservatory survey process can also be streamlined. Quotations can be transformed into a job file, which can be directly sent to surveyors for modification and onward transmission to suppliers.

Getting animated

More recently, we’ve upgraded both Focus and Vector to offer an even wider range of functionality.

They now feature the option to animate a wide range of products, letting installers more clearly demonstrate to customers how their products work, and communicate the benefits.

We introduced this feature because we’d been approached by a number of different installers who explained that their homeowner clients often struggle to visualise how more complex products like bi-folds and triple-track sliding doors operate.

The visualisation aspect of Focus and Vector has always been one of the most powerful tools the software has to offer, so we decided to enhance it with animations that show how a huge range of different products open and close.

Streamlining processes

Although we’ve created two exceptional software packages to assist installers, we have more to offer.

Our production software is tailored for small to medium-sized fabricators and effortlessly integrates orders received from customers and internal sales teams with your factory software.

This integration simplifies the process, resulting in improved customer satisfaction, a reduction in call backs, and an increased likelihood of repeat business.

Additionally, our Windowlink software is compatible with other programs, and we provide comprehensive training to help you adapt to it.
