Glass Times catches up with WinRem director, Jake Stephens, who reflects on his experience of forming a partnership with Liniar and becoming a Liniar approved fabricator.

The fenestration industry has a complex supply chain, so providing verifiable quality assurances can play a vital role in securing business, both new and repeat.

WinRem is a highly versatile fabricator-installer of PVC-U and aluminium fenestration products, with expertise in new build, trade, replacement, remedial and aftercare work.

Since its inception in 2019, the company has built relationships with established property developers including McCulloch Homes and Jenner Contractors, as well as acquiring loyal trade customers, all whilst delivering a first-class service to retail clients.

Director, Jake Stephens, says: “WinRem is committed to consistently providing the highest quality products and services to our diverse range of clients, and we fully understand the value of a satisfied customer.

“This is one reason we enjoy working with Liniar, a company which not only manufactures outstanding PVC-U window and door profiles, but also helps us to provide quality assurance and demonstrate our commitment to excellence through the Liniar approved fabricator scheme.”

The scheme is designed to ensure products are manufactured to Liniar’s detailed fabrication instructions through regular audits, proving windows and doors meet its exacting standards and achieve optimum performance.

The scheme was developed to offer peace of mind to fabricators and end-users alike whilst ensuring finished products perform exactly as they were designed to.

WinRem achieved Liniar approved status back in 2020 and has adhered to the stringent levels of manufacturing quality required to pass the annual audits since.

Liniar technical director, Paul Garforth, whose team conducts Liniar approved audits, says: “When carrying out an audit we inspect purchasing records of approved components, disposal processes, tooling and manufacturing processes amongst many other elements.

“We collect evidence to make sure everything is compliant and check if any issues need flagging. Jake and his team are doing an excellent job of meeting requirements and upholding standards, and as such WinRem passed its latest audit with flying colours.”

Primarily servicing London and the Southeast, WinRem is currently busy supplying and fitting windows and doors for around seven new build projects and is manufacturing approximately 80-100 frames per week on top of that. However, as with any growing business, the WinRem team has ambitions to increase output.

Jake continues: “With the Covid-19 pandemic and now the situation in Ukraine, these past few years have not been without challenges. But we have excelled at what we do, through hard work and dedication to providing superior products and excellent service.

“I want to see output up to 150-plus frames per week, with WinRem continuing to build a reputation as a reliable fabricator-installer outfit with a strong emphasis on premium quality products.

“Liniar has proven itself to be a first-rate supplier, and we enjoy working with its profiles,” he concludes. “The customer service, communication, and technical support we receive is great, and the reassurance and status that comes with being an approved fabricator, combined with WinRem’s extensive industry knowledge and manufacturing and installation expertise, gives us the confidence to promise our customers the best experience.”
