Sustainable regeneration

CDW Systems recently lent its support to a £multi-million regeneration project at Shire Hall, the headquarters of Gloucestershire County Council.

The trade and commercial fabricator was tasked with manufacturing and supplying Sapa’s Elegance 52 curtain walling, which was installed in blocks two, three and six of the building, including Gloucester Police Station.

The combination of Elegance 52, along with photovoltaic solar panels and DF 75 Si Reversible windows, means Shire Hall meets the council’s energy usage aims, reportedly creating one of the most energy-efficient offices in England.

“With such a tight brief from Gloucestershire County Council and clear aims to improve the sustainability and performance of Shire Hall, we liaised with our longstanding supply partner CDW Systems to find the optimal curtain walling solution,” Chris Beacham, director of Alfram, and contracts manager for the project.

Richard Smith, technical director at CDW Systems, said: “We are incredibly proud to help one of our local partners complete not only an eye-catching transformation but create what is now one of the most sustainable and progressive office buildings in the UK.”
