Senior making waves

A new luxury residential apartment scheme in Southend-on-Sea in Essex has combined a classic Art Deco design with a modern aluminium fenestration package, featuring doors, windows and curtain walling solutions from Senior Architectural Systems.

The undulating ‘waves’ of the white concrete framed Clifftown Shore residential development have been accentuated by the curved installation of Senior’s SF52 aluminium curtain wall system.

The views from the apartments have been framed using Senior’s Pure tilt and turn aluminium windows, with Pure Slide aluminium doors providing access to the outdoor terraces. Thermal efficiency has been further enhanced with the use of triple glazing.

The main entrance to the development features Senior’s aluminium Pure commercial doors.

As well as contributing to a more energy-efficient building envelope, the use of the Pure system is also said to offer improved acoustic performance.

Owing to the coastal location of the development, Senior’s systems were powder-coated in marine grade matt black to offer additional protection from the elements.

Designed by LAP Architects and built by Cura Construction, all of Senior’s aluminium fenestration solutions were fabricated and installed by supply chain partner, Glass & General.

Set on the former site of a pub and a fish and chip shop, the new Clifftown Shore residential development also features a ground floor restaurant and cocktail bar in addition to 51 luxury one, two and three bedroomed apartments.
