A total of 10 R9 window from the Residence Collection have been installed on a 1930s Tudor-style property in a conservation area in Knowle, near Solihull.
In collaboration with installer, Mainstream Windows and fabricator, Stedek Windows and Doors, the windows were finished externally in Painswick and internally in the grained white colourway.
For this project, R9 was reportedly chosen for its quality and its perfect fit with the external Tudor style.
To complete the property with a traditional aesthetic, the Timberweld joint manufacturing method was used to replicate a classic timber joint along with triple decorative glazing featuring antique square leads and soldered joints. To enhance practicality, the leading was placed inside the glass, making it easier to clean.
The Residence Collection is said to have gained widespread approval from local authorities in conservation areas and Grade II listed buildings throughout the UK.
Triple glazed R9 windows exceed British Building Regulation standards with a U-value of up to 0.8W/m²K, offering A++ energy ratings. The R9 collection is available in 20 colours.
Bob Dhillon and Richard Elson, directors at Mainstream Windows, commented: “Residence 9 windows have long been a favourite among homeowners.
“These windows not only elevate the aesthetic appeal of properties but also deliver the modern functionality and energy efficiency essential for conservation areas. The attention to detail, from the Timberweld joints to the antique-style glazing, ensures the property retains its historical charm while meeting contemporary standards.”
Jo Trotman, marketing manager at The Residence Collection, added: “This project is a perfect example of how The Residence 9 windows seamlessly blend traditional design with modern performance. We are proud to see our products contributing to the preservation of the UK’s heritage while offering a sustainable and energy-efficient solution.”
