Greater Manchester newbuild
Spectus fabricator Jade Windows has completed the manufacture and installation of 250 Spectus Elite 70 casement windows and 12 sets of French doors in an exclusive development of 19 two-, four- and five-bedroom cottage-style apartments and townhouses in Monton, Greater Manchester.
The project was a Homes England-funded newbuild development on behalf of Snugg Homes, part of the Jigsaw Housing Group. The project’s main contractor was Tyson Construction.
The window specification was for high quality casement windows in black woodgrain foiling. All the windows and doors needed to meet PAS 24:2016 and Secured by Design requirements, and the project took six months to complete.
Ryan Fozard, director at Jade Windows, said: “We had to deal with the global shortage of materials as a result of the pandemic, but we worked closely with Tyson to ensure realistic time frames and meet set deadlines. This meant exceptional project management was required at every stage. We also had to be mindful of the people involved – we took extra safety precautions to ensure the health of our staff and were particularly respectful of other trades on site.”
