Universal Trade Frames upgrades Spectus VS
Universal Trade Frames has added a new ultra-slim meeting rail option to its Spectus vertical sliding sash window.
Available Fully Kitemarked and certified to PAS24, the Spectus VS has an established reputation for faithfully replicating the appearance of traditional sash windows.
Universal Trade Frames has now built on this core offer with the addition of a new meeting rail option, featuring slim sightlines of just 37mm.
Richard Hammond, sales director, Universal Trade Frames, said that combined with a deep bottom rail, classical hardware and a wide choice of colour combinations, the Spectus VS from Universal brought new period authenticity to sliding sash window replacements.
“The Spectus VS has always delivered on period detailing with the authentic ovolo shape to the frame bead, sash and cill and its deep sash mechanically jointed bottom rail,” he said.
“The addition of a very slim meeting rail between sashes is, however, a significant step forward.
“Homeowners choosing vertical sliding sashes are, by definition, focussed on the appearance of their window because they have an interest in its design – or because they have to, to get through planning.
“The slim meeting rail delivers incredible sightlines without compromising on performance or security and gives our customers access to a product that is almost indistinguishable from original timber sashes.”
Designed for timber box sash window replacement, the Spectus VS from Universal Trade Frames features a 128mm front to back depth, simplifying installation.
It can be manufactured to maximum sizes of 1,500mm wide by 2,800mm high achieving WER A ratings with standard 24mm sealed units without the need for triple-glazing, taking weight out of handling.
In addition to the unique 37mm slim sash meeting rail and deep bottom rail, the Spectus VS is also available from Universal Trade Frames with a Georgina Bar option.
It’s supplied with a 10-year manufacturer’s guarantee and is available in a choice of more than 30 different colour options.
Richard continued: “The Spectus VS is a great product in its own right but we also bring a lot of care and attention to how we make it.
“We mechanically joint the deep bottom rail, we replicate the run-through sash horns that you get on an original box sash window, and the hardware has been carefully selected to replicate period features.”
