Unique Window Systems says it is looking set to maintain its current growth trajectory following the biggest investment in the companyβs almost 20-year history.
The multi-award-winning fabricator, which has seen its turnover surge from Β£20.8 million to Β£39.2 million between 2020 and 2022, has opened a facility for its PVC-U product lines.
Located adjacent to Uniqueβs distribution centre, trade counter, showroom and current PVC-U, aluminium and coating facilities in Leicester, the new 65,000ft2 Β£multi-million facility extends the businessβ existing site footprint.
As well as relocating its current plant and machinery into the new PVC-U facility, Unique has used the move to invest into additional technology.
Specific purchases include two new Schirmer cutting and machining centres and a new Urban SV 800 CNC corner cleaner.
According to Unique, the investment into the new facility and the fabrication equipment it contains will the company to continue offering customers consistently high-quality products and on short lead times as the business grows.
It has increased the fabricatorβs PVC-U production capacity by over 5,000 frames a week and also houses a dedicated Visitor Experience Centre. This allows the companyβs visitors to view the new fabrication line in operation from an elevated position and to browse displays of the fabricatorβs different PVC-U products.
Sunil Patel, joint managing director, said: βWe continue to reinvest back into our business to optimise our production efficiencies, order lead times and product quality and choice.
βThe investment into our new and cutting edge PVC-U facility serves as a prime example of that commitment in action. It has taken two months to create this new fabrication centre of excellence which significantly increases both our production capabilities and capacity.
βIβd like to say a huge thank you to our team and our supply partners for making this happen. We also look forward to customers reaping the dividends of this hard work and the amazing outcome it has achieved.β
