Milaβs Supa range of stainless-steel door hardware is reported to be helping Walsall-based Select Windows provide a raft of benefits to its trade, retail and commercial customers, at minimal additional cost.
Select, a long-time fabricator in Liniar, switched to Supa from Milaβs ProLinea door handle and letterplate last year and now supplies stainless steel hardware as standard on all its doors, complete with a 25-year guarantee on both mechanical operation and finish.
There are said to be significant benefits for Selectβs customers, in terms of being able to promote the long-term durability of the hardware, the fact that it is more sustainable than the zinc alternative, and the reduced risk of remedials.
Milaβs Supa range is available in either SS304 extreme for mainstream use or SS316 marine grade material for coastal and high pollution areas. The entire range has been independently performance tested for corrosion resistance to BSEN1670 Grade 5 and has completed more than 1,000 hours in a salt spray test.
Nigel Court, Selectβs operations director, commented: βWhen Mila offered us its Supa range at minimal additional cost, we saw a great opportunity to significantly upgrade our standard offering and give our customers a real USP in an increasingly competitive marketplace. We now offer everything from the standard Supa door handles and TS008 letterplates to the Supa pull bars and escutcheons and SupaSecure and SupaSafety versions of the handle.
βIn characteristic Mila style, the marketing team has gone the extra mile and helped us produce a bespoke brochure for the new products, which makes it easy for our team to explain the benefits of all the different stainless-steel options and win new business.β
Select chose Mila as its hardware supplier more than five years ago.
Nigel added: βWe rely on Mila to help us identify products which will benefit our business β whether thatβs by speeding up fabrication or generating new sales opportunities. The Supa range is a great example of that, alongside easy to fit and easy to sell products like the Yale friction stay and the new Mila Heritage window and door hardware.β
βThe Mila products are a great fit with our Liniar profiles too. The Heritage range complements Liniarβs Resurgence flush sash really well and, as one of the first fabricators to take on the innovative new system, we are already talking to Mila about designing and testing cost-effective new hardware solutions to work with Liniarβs Zero90 Passivhaus certified PVC-U window system.
βWe get excellent service from the whole Mila team,β he continued. βAs well as our sales manager Karen Paskin, there are onsite technicians available to give expert advice to our retail customers on hardware adjustment and lots of logistical and testing support on commercial contracts.
βFor instance, Mila supplies Select with the Ukrainian-made Axor range of concealed gearing tilt and turn hardware and they have ensured continuity of supply for all our large-scale commercial projects. Mila even provided us with bespoke tilt and turn display boards for the factory floor with all the relevant part numbers to give our fabrication team a quick and easy reference point for fitting the gearing. It all adds to the value we get from the partnership.β
