Success story

The Camden Group’s new oversize sliding patio door was “one of the star attractions” when it was launched at the FIT Show.

Roy Harrison, Camden Group’s sales manager, said: “The show was a huge success, creating lots of interest in our product range from a large number of new customers including installers, architects, housing associations and specifiers.

“The new 4m sliding patio door proved particularly popular; visitors were all very impressed with the build quality and just how smoothly the door moved on the easy track glide system.”

The Camden Group originally showcased the super-large sliding door at the last FIT Show at the NEC in 2017 as a prototype and reactions were very positive, so the design and production teams have spent the last two years refining the specifications.

The profile has been engineered to ensure the PVCU door frames are strong enough to take the extra size of the glazing units. Until now PVCU doors were limited in size and the only option for householders wanting large doors would be aluminium or bifold doors, the company said.

Another success story for Camden was ThermocillT, a new cost-saving product that redirects heat in a room. The eco-friendly product was also launched at the FIT Show and received a very positive response.

“We had a positive response about our other products from manufacturers of modular homes and temporary offices,” Roy said.

“Our trade clients like the fact that Camden Group extrudes the high impact PVCU frames on-site.

“There is growing interest in our environmental policies too and our range is unique because the majority of our products are made from 80% recycled PVCU content.”

Camden also launched a new mobile app, Camden Q-U, that enables easy ordering and pricing for installers on the move.
