Shift to zero zinc
Winlock Security has expanded its Lifetime Stainless Steel range as part of a commitment to removing zinc-based products from its portfolio.
A letterbox and a face-fixed escutcheon complete a full suite of stainless steel door hardware.
Winlock Security’s managing director Alan Parker said “We are continually being asked for a 10-year surface finish guarantee on door hardware which we are simply unable to provide on zinc handles. We have therefore taken the decision to drop zinc plated or PVD-coated zinc handles from our range and concentrate on supplying stainless steel products which we know will give the corrosion resistance our customers and end users seek – even in exposed coastal environments.
“As a result we are now pleased to be able to offer 10-year or more surface finish guarantees across our entire range of door handles and letterplates.”
The Winlock Lifetime Stainless Steel range now comprises a wide range of products including door handles, fingerpulls and door pulls. All carry a 15-year surface finish guarantee, with the option of marine grade versions for all handles and door pulls that carry a 25-year surface finish guarantee.
