Shelforce has been named as Diversity Champion at this yearβs Scale-Up Awards 2022, which are designed to celebrate high-growth companies and the entrepreneurs running them.
Shelforce, which specialises in supplying products to local authority building projects and works closely with Birmingham City Council, is said to have impressed the judges with its inclusive approach to training and employment, with 75% of its workforce having a disability.

Howard Trotter, the companyβs business manager, said: βWe have created a hugely supportive work environment that both inspires and benefits our team, and this has created exceptional staff satisfaction, development and increased employee engagement with Shelforceβs values and goals.β
The event, which was hosted by comedian Russell Kane, was held at Londonβs Tobacco Dock and attracted 450 business leaders from across the UK.
