Quality doors, great service

Aluminium system supplier, Kestrel, has highlighted the importance of specifying folding sliding door systems for commercial applications that are ‘stronger and more robust’ than those used in domestic settings, as they require highly engineered hinges, joints and frames to ensure long-term reliability.

Kestrel’s folding sliding door system is PAS 24 accredited and has been tested to 25,000 cycles to BS EN 1527 standards.

Features include multipoint locking and shoot bolts as standard, and the aluminium frame units can accept toughened or laminated safety glass in thicknesses from 24-32mm.

For those businesses that need to provide easy access for wheelchairs and other mobility devices, Kestrel can also supply a low-threshold option with just a 13mm step.

Kestrel’s folding sliding doors also feature slimline handle styles that are designed to allow the doors to stack neatly, flush against each other, creating more space for furniture such as tables and chairs.

Kestrel also has its own inhouse powder-coating facility and can offer a marine grade finish to thickness grade AA25, helping protect against severe atmospheric conditions, as well as single or dual-colour powder coating.

The company is said to hold ‘significant product volumes’ in stock at its Birmingham-based manufacturing facility, to ensure short lead times on orders. It also has a technical team to assist customers throughout the delivery and installation of the final product.

Marketing manager, Andrew Cross, said: “At Kestrel, we pride ourselves on our high-quality products and technical expertise, which allows us to offer our customers outstanding customer service. Our folding sliding door system is robust, reliable and secure, and can be delivered and installed quickly and easily.”
