Prefix Systems has unveiled Warmdeck, a new flat roof system that is said to have multiple applications and is designed to be ‘extremely fast’ to install.
Over two open days, the new roof system was demonstrated at Prefix’s Blackburn showroom for customers to preview.
It has been designed to integrate seamlessly into Prefix’s core roofing product offering and is a ‘must have’ for those installing flat rooflights and lanterns.
Made from a lightweight, composite engineered timber structure, Prefix says that Warmdeck offers ‘incredible strength, rigidity and continues its commitment to a true warm-roof ethos, ensuring superior thermal performance’.
Chris Baron, director at Prefix, commented: “When developing this new product, our attention to detail ensures that fitters spend less time measuring and cutting, allowing them to focus on what matters most on site – building. One of our main focuses when developing a new product, is ensuring the installation process is as simple, and quick as possible. In today’s fast-paced construction landscape, efficiency and quality are paramount.”
The timber kit comes pre-cut to size, eliminating guesswork and minimising waste onsite. Chris adds that it has been designed with fewer components than competitor systems, streamlining the installation process and reducing the chances of misplacing parts.
Wherever possible, Prefix offers pre-built cassettes that are designed to drastically reduce installation times by minimising the number of assembly steps on-site.
When using a flat roof light or lantern, the insulated kerb is pre-assembled for convenience. According to Prefix this is another example of off-site construction principles that speed up the installation process.
Warmdeck can be retrofitted onto existing brickwork and frames seamlessly. This adaptability opens-up a world of possibilities for renovations and extensions, claims Prefix, making it easier to remodel and enhance existing structures.
Prefix offers a choice of fascia, soffit, and gutter options in white, grey, or black as well as upgrades to any RAL colour upon request. There is also the option to add the ornate aluminium Orangery gutter shroud.
Another unique Warmdeck design option allows for cantilevered soffit overhangs of up to 1m (subject to survey) adding an architectural touch to a project while providing additional shading and shelter.
The Warmdeck kits meet all necessary building control standards and boasts a superior thermal performance rating of 0.12 W/m²k, certified by BRE.
Each roof can be supplied with full structural calculations tailored to individual postcodes ensuring compliance with local building regulations. Prefix says that it even carefully considers the logistics with Warmdeck being delivered direct to site, saving time and hassle.
