New business win

Aluplast has agreed a new supply deal with Weatherglaze for its Ideal 4000 system and its new lift and slide door.

Operating from Gorey, just south of Dublin, Weatherglaze fabricates windows and doors and supplies them throughout the Republic of Ireland.

Weatherglaze wants to access new opportunities generated by PVCU/aluminium cross-over products delivered by aluskin, Aluplast’s external aluminium fascia system.

Jim Dempsey, chairman at Weatherglaze, said: “Aluskin gives the Ideal 4000 and the Aluplast lift and slide a lot of retail and commercial appeal. It delivers a strong aesthetic, is very energy efficient – far more energy efficient than aluminium – and allows us to combine price and performance to our customers.”

The Ideal 4000 system was launched in 2017 and is defined by a contemporary squareline finish. It’s also Part Q approved, achieving a WER A rating in either its standard PVCU, foiled or aluskin forms.

The modular Aluplast 85mm lift and slide door system, was also launched last year. It delivers U-values as low as 0.65W/m2K, meeting Passivhaus standards, is capable of spanning openings of 6.5m x 2.8m, while also delivering manufacturing time efficiencies of up to 40% over comparable systems.

Ian Cocken, director of sales and marketing at Aluplast, said: “The Ideal 4000 and our lift and slide door are available in aluskin, our ‘click-and-fix’ aluminium-cladding system. It’s relatively new to the UK and Ireland but draws on proven technologies, guaranteeing through-life performance. It means that Ideal 4000 in aluskin is not only the first but remains the only true aluminium-clad casement window available in the UK and Ireland.”
