Grander entrances

Aluminium installers can get extra-large single and French doors from aïr, to meet the latest contemporary home design trends, according to Everglade.

The latest product uses the aïr 800 bi-fold door system to create single entrance doors up to 1,200mm x 3,000mm, and French doors for openings up to 2,400mm x 3,000mm.

In many cases, it removes the need for additional sidelights and toplights, for minimalist design that perfectly suites with aïr bifold and lift and slide doors and the aïr MOD Series window range.

aïr Brand Ambassador Jay Patel said: “By understanding the trends that are driving homeowners’ buying decisions, we can deliver the next big products ahead of time for installation companies.

“There are more and more large extensions being built on the back of homes, to create sought-after open-plan living. These are often fitted with aluminium bifold or lift and slide doors to connect spaces, and bring much-needed natural light into rooms, but homes sometimes need a secondary entrance. These are usually on the back of the home, giving access to a separate utility area, or on the side of the house.

“Rather than supplying an aluminium entrance door with a toplight or sidelight addition, now installers can offer a taller, wider single or French door, that will look impressive, and often offer a more cost-effective option for homeowners.

“We also predict that this will be a big trend for front doors as more homeowners opt for Grand Designs style living with aluminium windows and impressive entrances to their properties. Giving them an extra-large, minimalist design entrance door will perfectly fit with the vision for their homes.”
