Established 22 years ago, Twinseal is said to be at the forefront of British IGU manufacturing thanks to a longstanding commitment to embracing new products and technology, and the support of its supplier, Edgetech.
Two automated spacer application lines, combined with Edgetechβs Super Spacer, have reportedly helped the York-based firm to streamline its operations and offer excellent product quality.
βWith Edgetechβs support, weβve been able to improve productivity and ensure weβre delivering the best possible IGUs to our customers,β commented production director, Lee Cowen.
βPeople often think automation is about replacing humans with robots, but at Twinseal, thatβs not been the case at all.
βEven the most automated production line in the world still needs staff to oversee the production, and that human element canβt be replaced.
βMy team is an integral part of what we do here at Twinseal β it takes extremely skilled staff to run our production line.β
Lee adds that Twinsealβs success can also be attributed to its ability to pre-emptively solve problems before they occur. He refers to Twinsealβs facility as βNoahβs arkβ β it has two of each piece of machinery to ensure that, if something goes wrong or machinery breaks down, there is a backup plan already in place.
Lee continued: βEngineering expertise and rigorous maintenance schedules are a vital part of providing the high-quality service weβre known for.ββ
Edgetech head of sales, Tony Palmer, commented: βAt Edgetech, weβve always placed a special emphasis on embracing new technologies.
βWeβre delighted that Twinseal has seen such success working with Super Spacer over the years, and is a fantastic example of what can be achieved by adopting automation.β
