The recently launched Ultraframe flat roof system has achieved Assent and JHAI Building Regulations approval.
Flat roof users can now choose to work with either Assent or JHAI to carry out their Building Regulation approvals as an alternative to working with local authorities, fast tracking the red tape on new build and refurb projects.
Assent is a Corporate Building Control Approved Inspector that operates to industry codes of conduct and building control performance standards, working with clients to add value to the building control process and make sure projects run as efficiently and effectively as possible.
JHAI is an Approved Inspector, licensed by the Government via the Construction Industry Council. The company provides Building Control for all types of building projects and has carried out over 17,000 approvals in 2022. JHAI aims to make projects easier whilst saving money for the builder or installer and covers all of England and Wales.
Installers or builders wanting to attain a Building Control certificate for an Ultraframe flat roof can notify Assent or JHAI about the project with copies of the plans.
According to Ultraframe, achieving the certificate via Building Control is a considerably lengthier process as the installer would be required to collate and submit various technical documentation for the flat roof – possibly with additional structural calculations – for assessment which could take weeks or months.
Ultraframe claims that its flat roof is the strongest system available. It can span up to 5.6m unsupported without the need for costly additional steels and can support rooflights up to 5.7m x 3m.
The system is also said to be the lightest on the market at 51kg/m², making it easy to manoeuvre on site.
As with all Ultraframe systems, there are a wide range of options including a choice of fascia designs, compatibility with any roof or membrane and a choice of zero, one or two apertures.
The roof offers a U-Value of just 0.12 thanks to a number of innovative features, including a generous 225mm of insulation.
