Eurocell launches new 150mm cavity closer

Eurocell has launched a new, more advanced version of its 150mm Cavalok cavity closer system to support housebuilders with a growing demand for wider cavities.
A new survey from Professional Builder and Knauf Insulation has revealed that 150mm cavities are fast becoming the preferred choice for housebuilders in the UK, with 41% of participants already implementing the wider cavity approach in new builds and over a quarter considering it for upcoming projects.
The 150mm Cavalok cavity closer system is said to have been refined through rigorous trials and is designed to help reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency in homes.
According to Eurocell, 150mm cavities play a crucial role in the fabric first approach by significantly increasing a building’s insulation capacity, allowing housebuilders to meet carbon reduction targets.
By enhancing U-values with thicker, well-insulated walls, Eurocell claims that heat loss can be reduced by up to 35% through walls alone, minimising the reliance on additional renewable technologies.
Martin Benn, Eurocell’s head of new build, said: “Wider cavities allow builders to rely less on renewables – such as PV panels – and instead offer a permanent, cost-effective energy-saving solution embedded into the structure for the lifespan of the building. This approach aligns with housebuilders’ preference for low-maintenance solutions and reduces homeowners’ long-term energy costs.
“We’re proud to be at the forefront of innovation for sustainable building solutions, and our 150mm Cavalok cavity closer is a testament to Eurocell’s commitment to supporting the industry’s needs. As the construction sector moves toward higher standards of energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact, we’re dedicated to developing solutions that not only meet but exceed these expectations.”
