Conservation approved

Prescot Windows, a Liverpool-based fabricator and installer, insists on Swisspacer for all of its windows, whether PVCU or aluminium.

The company’s most popular windows are from the Residence Collection, a window and door system developed to replicate the look of 19th century timber. Those installations also feature Swisspacer’s Georgian bar for an authentic heritage-style appearance.

Lee Draycott, director at Prescot Windows, said: “A lot of our installations are within conservation areas of Liverpool, meaning any potential changes must go through Liverpool City Council. We’re the only company approved to install in Liverpool’s conservation areas, which was no easy feat. After many samples going to multiple conservation officers, Prescott Windows was finally accepted.

“We colour match the frame to replicate the authentic heritage look as much as possible. Swisspacer comes in a range of attractive colours that really complement the windows. We even had a customer who wanted bifold doors with warm edge, in anthracite grey. However, when they saw the Swisspacer titanium grey, they had the colour of the doors changed to match the spacer because they liked it so much – you don’t see that happen often.”
