Aluminium fabricator CDW Systems is finding growth in assisting smaller fabricators in meeting project requirements that would otherwise be beyond their capabilities.

According to the Gloucester-based company, which has been supplying to the domestic and commercial markets for more than 30 years, limited resources, restricted production capacity, and limited access to specialised equipment can make it difficult for smaller fabricators to undertake and complete large projects efficiently.

CDW Systems’ Group chairman, Jeremy Phillips, said: “We’re still busy, and what we are finding now is that we are getting quite a lot of business from customers who do a little bit of fabrication themselves but have not got the capacity to cope with the larger type of projects, so they will use us for those, and we are very happy to do that.”

Jeremy adds that CDW Systems can bridge the gap for smaller fabricators to meet the demands of large-scale projects thanks to expanded production facilities, state-of-the-art machinery, and a highly skilled workforce.

“We understand the unique challenges fabricators have as we face them too, which is why we are well placed to help them if we can,” he said. “Thanks to our capacity and lead times, they don’t have to worry about struggling to meet the demands of large-scale projects and the potential impact on their everyday fabrication.

“Some companies will also fabricate more domestic aluminium whereas we do the commercial range as well, so they will use us for those products for their commercial projects, and we’re finding that’s another area of growth for us.”
