Back with a new window system

Aluk plans to lead the aluminium charge at the FIT Show, as it did in 2017.

Aluk promises its stand will be packed with all of Aluk’s most popular products, as well as some new product previews, giving visitors a taste of what is to come during the course of 2019.

The stand will have something for everyone, whether they are operating in the trade, retail or commercial sectors, with a wide choice of sliding and bifold doors, windows, and outdoor living products.

Probably the biggest news at the show is the showcasing of a new window system from Aluk pitched directly at the mid-rise commercial market – giving fabricators what the company calls a really important new sales opportunity.

The Aluk C70S aluminium window system will come with pre-inserted gaskets. This, according to Aluk, could half the time it takes fabricators to produce a window – increasing margins and competitiveness, and bringing aluminium into line with PVCU.

The C70S is the new big brother of Aluk’s 58BW window system, and incorporates everything that fabricators and installers love about the 58, with much improved performance and faster, simpler fabrication.

With the C70S, Aluk’s specialist design team have created a good looking, cost effective new window that satisfies all the key thermal, acoustic and performance criteria laid down by commercial specifiers.

For instance, it will offer thermal performance of between 1.0W/m2K and 1.3W/m2K, will accommodate 50mm glazing for improved acoustics, a maximum sash weight of 150kg for tilt before turn windows, and will offer class leading wind and water tightness even with large span window openings.

It will also come with PAS24 accreditation on inward and outward opening windows making it suitable for all projects requiring Approved Document Q.

The new window includes features such as a ‘snap-in’ PVC profile to make it quick and easy to fit the EPDM weather proofing membrane, and the option of crimped or mechanical cleats to suit every fabrication set up.

Aluk’s managing director Russell Yates said: “We can’t wait to showcase this new window to customers at FIT. It will be the platform on which we build an entire new range of products, giving our customers the same benefits of system integration that they already enjoy with the 58BW.

“It also has the massive advantage that it shares the sightlines and many of the parts and tooling required to manufacture the 58BW so customers can easily add the C70S to their range and really make an impact in the commercial market without significantly increasing their stockholding.”

Alongside the C70S for customers operating in the commercial sector will be Aluk’s SL50 curtain wall system and GT55 TB commercial door.

Also being previewed by Aluk at FIT is a new sliding door in the premium Luminia range. This will sit neatly on the stand between the mid-market Optio BSC94S and the high-end Infinium door, demonstrating how Aluk has a slider for every budget and application.

There will also be room for the Luminia F82 bifold door, which has helped so many of Aluk’s Select Partners to win business in the premium sector since its launch at FIT in 2017, and the Luminia Veranda offering the perfect indoor/outdoor living set up.
