Tommy Trinder has reported a 40% increase, year on year, in quote volumes via its quotation software.
“Itβs bonkers to think that installers have quoted 135,000 homeowners via our platform over the last year β thatβs equivalent to a town the size of York!β said CEO Chris Brunsdon.
The number of firms using Tommy Trinder for quoting has also continued to grow, with 250 more installation companies reportedly signing up to use the service over the last 12 months. But it’s not just new business that is fuelling the growth in quote volumes, explained Chris:
βHaving a full suite of materials β timber, aluminium, steel and PVC-U β available to touch, show and sell is really boosting the numbers. Weβre seeing a rising incidence of installers combining multiple materials in one quote β a timber front door, an aluminium bi-fold and some PVC-U sashes on the same job is not uncommon, for example. These mixed material projects are leading to higher average quote values β typically, in the region of Β£7,300.β
βPremium features are a factor too,β he continued. βFoils, dual colours, dummy vents, mechanical joints, flush casements, surface mounted bars and premium ironmongery are all trending upwards. It’s easy to show these off on the Tommy platform in a very visual way, and when itβs easy to show it’s easy to sell.β
Notably, around 60% of quotes sent to homeowners during 2024 were accompanied by a visualisation, according to Chris.
βThe makeover tool, where installers provide a mock-up to the homeowner of their new windows in situ, is definitely becoming a staple part of the quoting process,β he said. βWhen you consider the ease with which consumers are able to model other significant purchases like cars or kitchens, it feels inevitable that offering the client a visual of windows and doors will become the norm. Customers love being able to βtry before they buy.ββ
