Secure accreditation

Origin has achieved Secured by Design accreditation for the doors and windows in its Origin Home range.

Neil Ginger, CEO at Origin, said: “Not only is it the only way for products to be officially recognised by the police in the UK, but it is increasingly seen by commercial audiences and consumers as a valuable mark of quality. At Origin, we pride ourselves on the high quality of our bespoke products, so this recognition both reaffirms our confidence in our offering and ensures we stand out from the crowd in a competitive marketplace. This accreditation clearly demonstrates that our products combine best-in-class design with superior security, making them the perfect addition to any home.”

In order to achieve Secured by Design status, the product has to adhere to rigorous test standards set by the police, which include PAS 24 for enhanced security; BS EN 6375 Part 1 for weathertightness; BS EN 6375 Part 2 for operational and strength characteristics; BS EN 6375 Part 3 for basic security; and ISO 9001 for quality management. The products are then fully certified by an independent third-party accredited by Ukas. Only products which achieve and surpass these standards can be registered with SBD and use its logo.
