Scottish best

Geze UK is sponsoring the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) Awards Dinner for the fifth consecutive year.

The event showcases the best of Scottish architecture and will take place at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, on May 30.

Eighty-two entries have now been shortlisted to 19 projects, which will go head-to-head to compete for accolades for architectural achievement.

They include projects as diverse as: the Glasgow tearooms, Mackintosh at the Willow, Perth Theatre, Hendrick’s Gin Palace, Girvan, and The Black House, Isle of Skye.

Andy Howland, Geze UK sales and marketing director, said: “It is always an honour to be part of the RIAS Awards which presents an eclectic range of projects within a variety of landscapes and created to accommodate very different requirements.”

President of the RIAS Robin Webster OBE said: “This year’s judges were struck by the continuing high standard of submissions and found shortlisting very difficult indeed. This is an impressive list of buildings that all show the ambitious level of excellence that architects and their clients can achieve, and I hope that communities, government and local authorities, along with everyone else who needs to procure buildings will look at these examples and ensure that their ambitions match them. Our awards celebrate the very best that is being built in Scotland.”
