Rapierstar has hosted a 30th anniversary golf day in support of GM Fundraising, ahead of the industry charity’s Ryder Cup style challenge that’s scheduled to take place in Quinta do Lago, Portugal next year.

Sixteen golfers, representing businesses from all areas of the window and door industry, attended the one-day practice session at Astbury golf club in South Cheshire.

Taking the honours on the day was Team 1, with Russell Yates of Alufold Direct, David Stockwell of Business Micros, Joe Hague of Window Machinery and Rapierstar’s Kev Jennings.

The prize for nearest the flag was GAP’s Jon Randles, with David Stockwell of Business Micros claiming the longest drive.

The GMF Cup gives keen amateur golfers in the fenestration sector an opportunity to take part in a competition that closely replicates the famous battle between the USA and Europe, while at the same time raising vital funds for Hope House Children’s Hospices.

The last GMF Cup in 2021 raised over £41,000 for the charity and GM Fundraising is hoping for even more next year.
