Pigs party

Kicking off the year in Style, Pigs hit a new high in Manchester on Thursday March 7, 2019, at The Castlefield Rooms.

Sarah Ball, organiser of Pigs, said: “What a difference a year makes. Last year, the Beast from the East meant that only 80 Pigs braved the elements to make the event. This year’s popular event has broken records as the most well-attended soiree in Pigstory.

“More than 250 people joined us on the night and it was great to see so many of our regulars alongside lots of newbies. It’s fantastic to see the whole industry represented, from systems companies to installers, component manufacturers and fabricators.

“The events couldn’t happen without our super sponsors, who all dig deep to put money behind the bar and get the Pigs party started. Our Pigs Manchester sponsors included: AluFoldDirect; All Glass Facades; Anglo European; APS Aluminium and Plastic Solutions; Avantis International and Kubu; Bison Frames; Build Show; Carl F Groupco; Cura Glass; Edgetech UK; Emplas; ERA Security; Extrudaseal; Fenster Fabrications; Fire Glass UK; Georgian Bar Company; Glass Times; Glazpart; Glass and Glazing Products; Improveasy; Independent Network; Kawneer; Kömmerling; Korniche; Masterframe; Morley Glass; Premier Conservatory Supplies; Regalead; Selecta Systems; Senior Architectural Systems; Stuga; Supalite; The Consultancy; Thermoseal Group; Total Hardware; UAP; Unique Window Systems; The Veka Group; Vision Magazine; Whizzle; Window News; Window Ware.

“It was lucky that The Castlefield Rooms moved us to the bigger Merchant room to accommodate the record numbers,” Sarah said. “We were impressed that the free bar lasted as long as it did.

“The party continued on into the night and we saw last orders at the bar. If this is how Pigs 2019 started, it is certainly going to be the year of the Pig.”

The next Pigs party is in London on Thursday June 20 at The Warwick in Soho. Then Pigs goes to Glasgow on 13 September and the year of the Pig ends in Birmingham on November 7. There are a couple of surprises along the way with the Pigs bar taking centre stage on the Balls2 Marketing FIT Show stand and a cheeky trip across the pond to Glass Build America in Atlanta.

“Everyone in the industry is welcome to join us at any Pigs event,” Sarah said. “To get all the latest information on Pigs, you can follow us on social media or sign up to the mailing list on the Balls2 Marketing website.”
