It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Stephen John Boocock, a highly respected and influential business leader who passed away on 19 May 2026 at the age of 75.

Born on 27 July 1950, Stephen dedicated more than four decades to serving the glass and stone sectors.

Stephen joined Ebor Engineering in March 1979 from Modern Art Glass in Leeds. Just two years later, in 1981, he helped establish Ebor Equipment Ltd alongside his business partners, taking on the role of sales director before becoming managing director in 2000.

In 2009, the company was acquired by CRL (C.R. Laurence), marking another significant milestone in Stephen’s distinguished career.

Throughout his 40 years with Ebor and later CRL, Stephen was widely known for his extensive knowledge, strong relationships and ability to inspire those around him.

He retired in April 2019 after an exceptional career spent with the same company.
