Kömmerling has launched an advanced Planning Software platform designed to help fabricators and installers navigate the increasing complexity of compliance under the Future Homes Standard.

The web-based platform allows users to assess windows and doors on an individual basis, reflecting the requirement for products to be evaluated by exact specification rather than through standard model calculations.

For those operating across the commercial sector in particular, where compliance requirements are becoming more detailed and project-specific, the software offers a significant step forward.

Available free of charge to all Kömmerling fabricators and installers, as well as architects and specifiers, the platform enables users to configure and assess a wide range of Kömmerling systems, including casement, flush and tilt and turn windows across the Kömmerling 70, Kömmerling flush and Kömmerling 76 ranges.

A range of doors including patio, lift and slide, balcony and residential options are also included from systems such as the PremiLine and PremiDoor lines. The planning software is available via the Kömmerling website through the dedicated Planning Software portal, where users can register by completing a short form.

Users can configure products in detail, making their selection from a broad selection of profiles and ancillaries, including frame, sash, mullion and bead options, as well as multiple glazing specifications, opening combinations, colours and spacer bar types.

Reinforcement sections can also be added or removed independently for each side of the frame. As changes are made, the software dynamically recalculates U-values in real time, while an intuitive traffic light system highlights whether the chosen specification sits within Kömmerling design parameters.

Gareth Parton, sales & marketing director at Kömmerling UK, said:

“The Future Homes Standard is fundamentally changing the way windows and doors are assessed and specified, particularly within commercial and large-scale residential developments. This software has been developed to make that process significantly easier and more accessible for our customers.

“It gives manufacturers, installers and specifiers the ability to configure products in precise detail, instantly understand the performance implications of those changes, and work with confidence that systems remain within Kömmerling design parameters.

“Because the platform is web-based and continually updated, it will evolve alongside both regulations and our product portfolio, ensuring customers always have access to the latest systems and functionality. Our manufacturing partners can also operate the system with their own branding and full administrative control.”

Alongside configuration and compliance functionality, the platform also offers a range of export capabilities including BIM models, STEP files for animation and X and Y section CAD drawings in both PDF and DXF formats.

According to Kömmerling further developments are already planned over the coming months, including the integration of the WarmCore platform, Kömmerling VS, and wind loading calculations by postcode.
