Sandown-based home improvement specialist, Island Windows, has been awarded Safe Contractor certification in recognition of its commitment to achieving the highest standards of health and safety.

Safe Contractor is one of the UK’s leading third-party accreditation schemes, recognising organisations that demonstrate excellence in health and safety management. The certification is trusted by thousands of businesses across the UK, including SMEs, local authorities, and many FTSE 100 companies, when selecting contractors to undertake work.

Employing 24 people, Island Windows is said to have built a strong reputation across the Isle of Wight for supplying and installing high-quality double glazing, doors and conservatories, alongside its dedicated window and door service and repair division.

The decision to pursue Safe Contractor certification formed part of Island Windows’ wider commitment to implementing consistent, high standards throughout every aspect of the business. In addition to strengthening its health and safety management systems, the accreditation will enhance the company’s ability to secure new commercial contracts and demonstrates its commitment to best practice to customers, suppliers, and insurers alike.
