From gunroom to glazing specialist

Morgan’s Windows Doors and Conservatories’ growth from a tiny unit at the back of a gunroom and small builder’s merchants into a new showroom in Oswestry was achieved with help from AluFoldDirect.

Paul Rowney, manager at Morgan’s, said: “We started fitting PVCU windows and doors around seven years ago. We were self-taught at installing and expanded into fitting composite doors, French doors, sliders and eventually aluminium bifold doors, which is where our relationship with AluFoldDirect began.

“At that time, we had a little room behind a builder’s merchants and gunroom and we were a small, hands-on team. We started using sub-contractors as we got busier and eventually took on our own installers. Now we have seven fully MTC-approved fitters on our team who have attended personalised training sessions at the AluFoldDirect Training Academy.

“It works really well, because we find that customers are much more at ease with our own installers, especially if they have any queries or issues. Having access to the Everything Aluminium range helps us too. We work on a range of projects from commercial to residential and AluFoldDirect always has a solution for us.

“In terms of the domestic market, it seems everyone still wants to achieve that open plan look with a bifold door and rooflights, which means there are plenty of opportunities for us to go at.”
