Exeter Trade Aluminium has invested in a FMC470 four axis CNC machining centre by Fom Industrie, reported to be the first to be imported into the UK from Fom’s Catalica factory in Italy.

The new machine forms part of Exeter Trade Aluminium’s overall growth strategy, which includes expanding into new premises, and will help to ensure that the fabricator can meet demand while continuing to offer a consistent service with high quality products.

Designed to maximise volume and optimise efficiency, the FMC470 is an advanced aluminium CNC with the potential to complete very complicated tasks at volume, requiring minimum manual input.

Exeter Trade Aluminium’s production manager, Luke Leaman, spent a week at Fom’s HQ in Italy, training on the FMC470. He commented: “We are delighted to be the very first fabricator in the UK to take delivery of the new Fom FMC470. The machine makes use of the newest CNC technology and will help us maintain our reputation for quality, whilst increasing the efficiency of our operations as we continue to grow.”

Established in 2015, Exeter Trade Aluminium fabricates a range of specialist Reynaers and AluK aluminium glazing products including lift & slide doors, bi-folding doors and slim line windows, for trade and retail customers, across the Southwest.
