Elegant glass released

Saint-Gobain has announced the release of SageGlass Harmony, which it claims is the world’s most elegant dynamic glass.

Unveiled for the first time at Glasstec, Harmony dynamic glass provides daylight, heat and glare management while maintaining a natural and seamless connection to the outdoors, the company said.

SageGlass LightZone was the first dynamic glazing to allow for in-pane tinting to precisely control the source of heat and glare while providing optimal lighting conditions. However, LightZone has defined lines between tinted and clear areas of the glass; Harmony improves on this by delivering a gradual in-pane tint transition from fully clear to fully tinted.

SageGlass CEO, Alan McLenaghan, said: “Harmony represents the best glass technology evolution ever produced in our dynamic glazing portfolio. It represents a near perfect balance between the performance and aesthetic goals a solar control and glazing solution needs to deliver.” The Millennium provides 1,500 workplaces with sweeping views of the Geneva lakeside across its curved facade. It chose SageGlass Harmony to deliver the occupant experience that is at the heart of its mission.

Martin Schlienger of the Millennium project team, said: “Every product we select for our building needs to be an expression our commitment to delivering only the very best. This was especially important for our glazing selection, since it is such a significant and visible part of our design.”

Full production of SageGlass Harmony will begin early in the third quarter of 2019.
