Continued investment

SafeGuard Glass and Glazing has just completed a further stage of investment, following a £1.5 million investment into manufacturing capabilities and a move in 2016.

In the past 18 months a further £200K has been spent on its Peterborough facility, and a new showroom is about to open at the Stamford branch to showcase the broad range of products Safeguard manufactures and installs.

Nick Welsh, managing director at SafeGuard, said: “Automation is a big part of what we do, and advances in technology is one of the biggest things we have seen change over the past 23 years trading.

“In order to ensure we are delivering on our customers’ expectations both in terms of quality and quantity, we need to keep up with those advances. In the past 18 months we have invested in an array of machinery which will further improve processes across the business, including a Forel 2,500mm Glass Wash giving us the capability to manufacture much larger sealed units (up to 2,500mm x 3,200mm).

“Our storage and dispatch area has also increased by 2,000ft2.”
