Topline partnership powers Exmoor Glass growth

For a business that’s only just celebrated its first year, Exmoor Glass & Glazing has made remarkable progress – securing major contracts with the National Trust, Butlins, Bourne Leisure, Beacon Education Trust, and local councils.

The family-run glazing specialist has quickly built a reputation for quality workmanship and reliability, something owner Ashley Jackson says has been made possible through his partnership with Topline Glass.

“The quality Topline provides is unmatchable in my opinion,” says Ashley. “I’ve tried other suppliers, but there’s just no comparison. Everything from the service to the delivery – it’s spot on.”

Ashley entered the glazing industry straight from college and is said to have quickly established himself as a trusted face within the trade. After many years honing his craft and building strong relationships with clients across the South West, he took the step to start his own business.

“For years I’d been the face of the business I worked for,” he explains. “I was dealing directly with customers – commercial, domestic, National Trust, you name it – so I already had the contacts. I knew that if I kept doing quality work and stayed clean and tidy on site, there was no reason I couldn’t make it work.”

That focus on quality has shaped everything Exmoor Glass & Glazing does – from heritage restoration glazing and traditional putty work to contemporary balustrades and splashbacks, and double-glazed units.

“We purely focus on glass,” Ashley says. “Anything that involves glass, we’ll take on. It’s amazing how much we’ve achieved in just a year.”

Quality of service

Having worked in the trade for years, Ashley knew Topline Glass long before starting his own company. After spending some time with another Exeter-based supplier, he returned to Topline – drawn back by their consistency, quality and service.

“With Topline, I never have to worry about what’s going to turn up,” he says. “When you’re working on something like Dunster Castle, you can’t afford to second-guess the quality. The units from Topline are always clean, tidy, and consistent. I can’t rave about them enough.”

Even the smallest details make a difference. “You can tell the quality just by the finish – the tape lines, the neatness of the gaskets. It’s proper workmanship. That’s why I stick with them.”

For Ashley, Topline’s product quality is matched by their efficiency and customer care.

“The whole process is so simple,” he explains. “I send an email with what I need, and within a few hours I’ve got my delivery date. It’s completely stress-free – exactly how you want it when you’re juggling multiple jobs.”

Turnaround times are fast. “It’s often even quicker than they state,” Ashley adds. “They’re efficient, reliable, and everyone I deal with is friendly and professional.”

What stands out most to Ashley, though, is the personal connection.

“You can tell they genuinely care,” he says. “The delivery guys are always cheerful, everyone’s happy to help, and they go above and beyond all the time.”

That attitude comes from the top. “Jeremy [Bartlett, managing director at Topline Glass] actually rang me the other day when I told him we’re opening a shop in January. He said, ‘If there’s anything we can do to support you, just shout.’ That means a lot. It’s rare to have that kind of support from a supplier.”

Shared values

As Exmoor Glass & Glazing looks ahead to its next chapter, Ashley says he’s proud to work with a supplier that shares his company’s commitment to quality, reliability, and reputation.

“At the end of the day, we’re a family business built on pride and quality,” he says. “Working with Topline, who have those same values, makes us stand out. Would I recommend them to other companies? A thousand times, yes.”
