At a media day held yesterday at its new Warrington HQ, Regency Glass announced that it has begun phase 2 of its machinery investment as it gears up for anticipated demand of the new Regency Triple featuring Corning Enlighten Glass product, as well as growth from its existing double and triple glazed IGU offering.
Regency, with backing from business acquisition compounder, CorpAcq, has already invested around £30million of machinery into the impressive Warrington site which at 420,000ft2, is the largest single glass processing and IGU manufacturing facility in the UK.
The company, which is on the latest stage of a remarkable journey that began in 1983 with just a handful of employees, is around eight weeks into production of its highly innovative, lightweight, thin triple glazing product.
Capable of U-values as low as 0.5 W/m2k, Regency Triple features a 0.5mm boro-aluminosilicate centre pane and is manufactured on a state of the art automated IGU line with TPS (Thermo Plastic Spacer bar).
Unlike traditional triple glazing it is more comparable in weight to a regular double glazed unit, and can be manufactured to fit within a 28mm cavity – which presents exciting opportunities into the retro fit market – as well as a desirable, easy to handle and high-performance option for new build.
In addition to establishing the new lines requires for Regency Triple, the company has also seamlessly integrated the production lines from its former Leigh factory into Warrington, and is aiming to have the next phase of machinery installed by Christmas 2026.
Their phase two order includes two Glaston Ultra TPS lines, two Glaston Multi’Arrisser, multiple Hegla SortJet’s and three more Hegla ProLam LSR cutting tables inclusive of Autofeeders.
